In 2001, Grace Ching, our founder’s mother was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease that would slowly erode away her motor function. Over the ensuing years, she would go from being a low-impact aerobics instructor for seniors in her late 60s, to spending most of her days in a wheelchair or bed by the time she passed. At night, when Grace would need to go to the toilet to pee, she and her husband would stumble their way to the bathroom which resulted in numerous falls and several trips to the emergency department. This project was to fulfill a promise made to Grace, to develop “something” to help individuals like her when they need to pee. We call this “something” the P-funnel™.
